Dr. Mercy DeSouza

Mercy is a well-seasoned industrial and organizational psychologist with over twenty (20) years of international experience in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

She works part-time for reputable international organisations in Ghana as an organisational development consultant, specialising in employee performance and productivity, as well as organisational change management. She is a corporate trainer providing skills in cross-cultural management, ergonomics awareness, emotional intelligence and stress management, gap analysis and performance management.

Mercy is a full-time lecturer at the University of Professional Studies in Accra (UPSA). At the graduate and undergraduate levels, she teaches Organizational Behavior and Management, Business Ethics, Applied Psychology, and International Human Resource Management.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Hon) of Psychology from the University of Namibia, as well as a Master of Arts degree in International Business and Consulting (IHRM) from the Berlin School of Economics and Law in Germany. Again, she holds both a Master of Philosophy and a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Ghana.

Mercy is a co-founder of Third Sector Foundation (TSF Ghana), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Ghana that contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals. She has working knowledge of French and German and worked in the following international organisations, serving in various administrative and management capacities before joining academia in 2016.

Mercy DeSouza is passionate about individual, social, and organisational transformation. She believes that all humans are capable of transformation. As a result, given the right supportive environment and coaching, these natural processes will allow for the healthy development and transformation of individuals, business organisations, and other areas of life.
